A tradition of excellence in Gynecology and Obstetrics training.

Gyn/Ob Residency at Johns Hopkins

The Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics has a deeply rooted history in training exceptionally talented residents. Our mission is to train the next generation of teachers, leaders and researchers at the forefront of women’s health. Residents graduate with a great fund of knowledge and surgical expertise, ready to pursue any avenue of gynecology and obstetrics they desire. At the core of the educational model is an emphasis on embracing diversity and inclusion as the key to advancing patient-centered care and medical education.

Meet Our Residents

Our residents are the biggest asset to our program. They are talented, compassionate, energized and diverse. While training with us, our residents are not only engaged in clinical work, research, advocacy, community engagement and patient safety initiatives, but also developing lasting friendships and professional relationships.

  • Residents receive outstanding surgical training, from complicated cesarean sections to laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic surgery for benign and oncology cases.

  • Residents are not only taught by — but also supported by — Johns Hopkins faculty. Our attendings serve as clinical instructors, surgical coaches, research and career mentors, and become lifelong friends to our residents.
