Gynecologic Oncologists

gynecologic oncologists at the Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service

Our gynecologic oncologists are highly trained, award-winning surgeons and internationally recognized cancer experts who specialize in diagnosing and treating tumors of the female reproductive tract, including the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva. Additionally, our Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service faculty and collaborators are recognized leaders in the field, publishing articles in more peer-reviewed medical journals and serving in more leadership positions within national societies, including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, NRG/Gynecologic Oncology Group, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, American Association of Cancer Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, than providers at any other institution in the mid-Atlantic region.

During your treatment at Johns Hopkins, a gynecologic oncologist will lead your surgical care and, if required, will also direct your medical care, including chemotherapy, survivorship and supportive services, with skill and compassion. Several research studies have shown that women with reproductive cancer who are treated by a gynecologic oncologist experience better clinical outcomes and survival rates than when treated by a general gynecologist or general surgeon.

Gynecologic oncologists also specialize in complex benign gynecologic surgery, including procedures for advanced-stage endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian and uterine masses, cervical dysplasiaovarian cysts and risk-reducing surgery to prevent gynecologic cancers.
