Gastric Injection Weight Loss Program
The gastric injection weight loss program includes a package of essential tools and resources to help people successfully maintain a healthy weight through lifestyle and health modifications.
Similar to injection for wrinkles, the physician will place the injection directly into the stomach lining during an endoscopy. This procedure takes 20 minutes, and patients are able to go home after they have recovered from the sedation.
The gastric injection helps patients jump-start their weight loss goals. If desired, patients can have this therapy every six months.
How it Works
The injection into the stomach freezes the stomach muscles, decreasing stomach contraction, which in turn slows down digestion, helping patients feel fuller faster and eat less.
How You Will Feel
Initially, there are little to no side effects. Seven to 10 days after the procedure, you will start to notice that you are able to consume less. You should expect no long-term side effects and the injection will start to wear off after three months.
To Qualify, You Should Ideally
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 to 40; a higher or lower BMI may also be suitable.
- Be willing to participate in a medically supervised program.
