When to Start Palliative Care?

"As one starts a journey in a hike, each step marks a promise …"

Palliative care usually starts at the beginning of a diagnosis of a serious illness, rather than waiting until the later stages. The key to palliative care is that this form of care complements the ongoing medical treatments for the patient and can help them tolerate aggressive therapies while managing the symptoms.

Who is Hospice Care For?

"… not just to reach a destination but to listen to the whispers of the trail."

Hospice care is for terminally ill individuals who need caring and not curing until the end of life. Patients in hospice usually have a few months left until the end of their lives, so care is heavily focused on ensuring the remaining time is comfortable.
