Facilities
Located within the Outpatient Care Center, our laboratory operates as a comprehensive pediatric Transfusion Service, equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and advanced testing capabilities. The Blood Bank performs a full spectrum of serologic testing, including solid-phase assays (Echo Lumena), manual gel, and tube methodologies. Our testing portfolio encompasses antibody identification, eluate analysis, and isohemagglutinin titration. In addition to serologic testing, the Blood Bank oversees four strategically positioned Haemobanks throughout the main hospital and manages the thawing of cellular therapy products. We are fully equipped to perform blood component modifications using sterile techniques, including aliquoting, red cell reconstitution, platelet volume reduction, and irradiation. For complex immunohematologic evaluations, we facilitate the referral of patient samples to AABB-accredited reference laboratories for advanced serologic testing, red blood cell genotyping, and platelet crossmatching, including HLA-matched platelet support.
