Patient and Family Support
At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, it is our goal to support patients and families in every way we can.
We offer a variety of educational materials, classes and programs to help families best care for their children. We encourage our families to participate in any or all support services and welcome questions along the way.
NICU Parent Classes
The Johns Hopkins All Children’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) offers classes on a variety of topics relating to your baby’s development, well-being and safety, including:
CPR
Parents of patients in our NICU are required to complete an in-house infant CPR class before discharge. This class teaches parents and families how to recognize a medical emergency and how to respond quickly until help arrives.
iPreemie
Our iPreemie class teaches parents what to expect while in the NICU and after discharge. Parents also learn the best way to touch and hold their developing baby and how to care for their premature infant at home.
Early Steps
Florida’s Early Steps partners with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital to provide early intervention and therapy services to eligible infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) with significant developmental delays or a condition that may result in a developmental delay.
Parenting for Infants and Toddlers
Our parenting resources provide pediatric health care information and expert advice to help guide families in their pregnancy and parenting journey. Find tips and information about high-risk pregnancies, breastfeeding, flat head syndrome, safe sleep and more.
