Abstract Submission

Abstracts will be accepted for poster or platform presentations per the conference review committee's decision.

Conference Registration is Required
Submission Deadline: September 13, 2024

If an abstract is accepted as a poster or oral platform, the presenter(s) must register as a paid attendee for the Johns Hopkins Annual Hospital Activity and Mobility Conference. Abstract submissions are eligible for submission even if presented at another conference previously.

All abstracts must be submitted via email to [email protected], using the guidelines outlined below.

The Program Committee will review submitted abstracts upon submission and make the final decision regarding acceptance in advance of the conference. Final decisions will be provided via e-mail by September 27, 2024 for the early submission deadline.

Abstracts are intended to represent best practices in implementing a systematic approach to addressing the immobility harm. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should be single-spaced. Abstracts require presenter/author information including credentials and complete contact information. When considering your submission, please focus on a best practice versus your entire activity and mobility journey.  

Best practice abstracts can be submitted for the following categories:

  1. Organizational Prioritization
  2. Systematic Measurement and Daily Mobility Goal
  3. Barrier Mitigation
  4. Interprofessional Roles
  5. Sustainable Education & Training
  6. Workflow Integration
  7. Data Feedback
  8. Promotion & Awareness
  9. Overall project implementation
  10. Research & Innovation
  11. Nursing Practice
  12. Rehabilitation Delivery of Care
  13. Mobility Advocate

Please organize the abstract section using the following headings (300-word maximum excluding reference section):

  • OBJECTIVE(S): Purpose of project/study
  • METHODS: Summary of the project/study design or protocol
  • RESULTS: Results of the project/study with appropriate statistical inferences
  • CONCLUSIONS: Clinical importance and potential significance of findings
  • REFERENCES: Include at least 3 references
