Using MyChart in Our Emergency Departments and Hospitals
You can use MyChart on your personal device, like your smartphone or tablet, when you are in the hospital or during an emergency department visit. If you use the app while admitted, you will see features that are specific to your stay.
Features
In MyChart while admitted or in the emergency department, you can see:
- The reason for your stay

- Test results
- Upcoming tests, procedures and surgeries
- Members of your care team and their notes about your progress
- Let’s Eat, where you can order meals that meet your dietary needs and restrictions. Not available on all units or in our emergency departments. Ask a care team member for more information.
If you are using the MyChart app on a hospital-issued Bedside tablet, you will also be able to:
- Create a list of questions to ask your care team
- Listen to music, play games, meditate or practice relaxation

Using MyChart in Our Emergency Departments and Hospitals
To use the MyChart App on Your Smartphone or Tablet:
- Download the MyChart app from Google Play or the App Store.

- If you are admitted to one of our hospitals or emergency departments, the MyChart app will automatically switch to the inpatient version of MyChart.
- You and anyone who has been granted access to your account (proxies) can use the app to see real-time information about your hospital stay.
- After you are discharged, the app will switch back to the standard version of MyChart. Learn more about what you can do in MyChart.

Both views are available in the MyChart app and come from the information stored in your electronic medical record. The app view you see will change depending on if you are admitted or discharged from our hospital or if you are in the emergency department. While admitted, the app shows information specific to your hospital stay.

Clinical information about your hospital stay is stored securely in your electronic medical record. Most of the details of your visit will still be available in the MyChart app. No personal health information is stored on the phone or tablet you use to access the app.
