The fall chill is in the air, and with it, often comes a slew of troublesome respiratory viruses, such as flu, COVID, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and the common cold. Many illnesses are on the rise, so it’s essential to know their symptoms, what treatment options are available — including when to see a medical provider or go to an urgent care versus the emergency department — and most of all, how to prevent them from striking in the first place.

Johns Hopkins Medicine experts will be available throughout the fall and winter to talk with your newsroom about the respiratory virus illnesses that, unfortunately, come along with the change in seasons, as well as provide important information about vaccines.
