Education at the Johns Hopkins NCCU

Our neurocritical care unit maintains a robust educational framework designed to advance clinical knowledge and foster professional development across all levels of training.

Morning Didactics

The week begins with Tuesday morning didactic sessions that provide focused learning opportunities on core neurocritical care topics, complemented by Tuesday afternoon research lectures that showcase cutting-edge investigations and clinical trials in the field.

M&M Neurocritical Care Conference

On Tuesdays, we host M&M conferences where we come together as a medical community to review complex cases, discuss clinical decision-making, and learn from outcomes, all with the goal of continually improving patient care.

ACCM and Neurology Grand Rounds

Mid-week Thursday morning grand rounds bring together multidisciplinary teams to discuss complex cases and explore evidence-based treatment approaches.

Journal Club

Friday afternoons are dedicated to journal clubs, where participants critically analyze recent literature and engage in scholarly discussions that bridge research findings with clinical practice.

Simulation Lab

Our interactive simulation sessions offer hands-on training in high-stakes scenarios, allowing learners to develop critical skills in a controlled environment.

Fellow Bootcamp

New fellows benefit from an intensive bootcamp program each July, providing comprehensive orientation and foundational knowledge essential for success in neurocritical care.

NCCU Lunch and Learn

Our commitment to continuous learning is reflected in our NCCU Lunch and Learn lecture series, hosted by our dedicated nursing team. These interactive sessions bring together providers and specialists from across disciplines to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and enrich the educational experience for our nursing staff.
