Affordable Housing for Cancer Care Patients at Johns Hopkins Hospital

The Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion, part of the Kimmel Cancer Center, provides affordable housing for adult patients getting treatment at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Located right next to the Orleans Garage on the hospital campus, the Pavilion is open 24/7 and offers a supportive, home-like atmosphere. It’s a comfortable and welcoming alternative to staying in a hotel when you need specialized medical care.

  • Michelle Steely, CHP Operations Manager

    Michelle Steely is the Operations Manager of Residential Living at the Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion. She received her Baccalaureate degree in Healthcare Management from American InterContinental University. She is a member of Chesapeake Area Society of Healthcare Engineering and Healthcare Hospitality Network. She has particular interest in best practices in healthcare hospitality.

  • Michael Brown, Residential Living Operations Supervisor

    Michael Brown is a Hospitality Professional with most of his experience managing a luxury condominium for the Ritz-Carlton. Michael is passionate about applying his high-level customer service skills to enhance patient and caregiver comfort at Johns Hopkins, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

  • Joanne McMillan, Housing Referral Coordinator

    Joanne McMillan serves as the Housing Referral Coordinator and welcomes all visitors to the Patient and Family Services Suite. She handles guest reservations for the Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion and provides information and referral assistance to other regional hotels, furnished and unfurnished apartments and the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge.

  • Leeah Johnson, Guest Relations Specialist

    Leeah Johnson is the Guest Relations Specialist at the Hackerman-Patz Family and Patient Pavilion. Leeah earned her Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management with a minor in Business Administration from Towson University. She also holds an Associate's degree in Business Administration from the Community College of Baltimore County. She plans to further her education by pursuing a Master's degree in Healthcare Management in the near future.

  • Akayla Williams, BSW, Guest Relations Specialist

    Akayla earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Bowie State University, where she was a proud member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and a five-time Dean’s List recipient. She is passionate about supporting others and building meaningful connections through her work in guest relations. Akayla plans to pursue both a Master’s and PhD in Social Work, with the goal of establishing a career in clinical social work.
