The HCGH Administrative Residency offers a graduate level student (MBA, MHA, MPH) hands-on, specialized health care administration experience through an 11-month project-based program.
The residency is customizable to meet individual needs and interests, offers exposure to a range of areas, allows for the opportunity to undertake in-depth projects and grants access to the C-Suite of a world-class health system.
Project responsibilities will include:
- Organizational structure and processes
- Population health
- Financial management
- Clinical services and operations
- Ambulatory and ancillary services
- Operations management
After an initial period of exploration and exposure to areas of hospital operations, the resident will have an opportunity to select an area of specialization and focus, working closely with the executive leader who is a subject-matter expert in that field. The resident will also work on projects related to all the specializations throughout the year.
The resident is also invited to observe and participate in senior leadership discussions and meetings, including meetings of the executive leadership team, the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Management, and others. He or she is expected to become an active and contributing member of the leadership team.
The ideal residency candidate is someone who is a self-starter, takes initiative, can work independently, and is able to balance and manage multiple projects and priorities.
