Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Fellowship

The Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Fellowship Program is available to graduates of either adult or pediatric cardiology training programs. The ACHD training is a comprehensive program that lasts 24 months and prepares fellows to become academic leaders in the field of congenital heart disease.
The program requires commitment to a research project. We will work with prospective applicants as part of the application process to ensure resources are available at Johns Hopkins for a successful completion of the program.
Number of positions
We expect to recruit for one position for the 2027-2029 academic years.
Application
Applications are submitted through ERAS and will be reviewed after they become available in July.
Interviews
We expect to notify applicants regarding interview status in September/October 2026. Interviews will be held in September and/or October.
Match Day
Rank Lists are due Nov. 18th, 2026.
Match Day is Dec. 2nd, 2026.

- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- USMLE transcripts (all steps)
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from your program director. Please note: the ERAS system can accommodate up to five recommendation letters. We will not accept letters or copies of publications via fax or email.
Information for applicants on a Visa
- We can only sponsor J-1 visas.
- J-1 visas will be sponsored for applicants who are accepted into the program. Foreign medical graduates will need to have completed an ACGME-approved residency program in internal medicine in the United States prior to beginning the program. Fellows from non-ACGME-accredited programs must have at least three years of cardiovascular disease education prior to starting the fellowship.
