Johns Hopkins All Children’s Guild Seminole/Largo Branch Celebrates 50 Years of Service
For 50 years, the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Foundation Guild Seminole/Largo Branch has demonstrated the power of community-driven compassion. United by friendship and purpose, its members have advanced the mission of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, helping ensure children and families receive exceptional care, comfort and hope.
Founded on March 3, 1976, originally as the Seminole Branch when 12 women gathered in Wilma Fordham’s Seminole home, the Branch was built on a simple goal: make a difference for children. Led by founding co-chairs Wilma Fordham and Harriet DeLoach, these volunteers began with grassroots efforts like flea markets and craft sales — small but meaningful steps that laid the foundation for lasting impact.
Over time, these beginnings grew into signature events that engaged the community and united Guild branches in shared purpose. Annual traditions such as the Luncheon and Fashion Show, Love Light Tree Lighting Ceremony, Quarter Auction and participation in Guild-wide annual meetings became cornerstones of connection and support. Creative fundraising expanded through art festivals, auctions and walk-a-thons. Over the years, the Branch has funded essential programs including safe emergency transportation for infants, the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and rocking chairs for families in the neonatal intensive care unit.
As membership grew, the Branch expanded, welcoming the Largo Branch in the early 2000s to become the Seminole/Largo Branch. In 2013, the Branch started the first Run for All Children, now a signature Foundation event welcoming thousands of runners each year. Alongside fundraising, members have remained dedicated to service, volunteering their time and creating meaningful moments for patients and families.
Now led by Kelli Barr, the Branch has raised more than $1.8 million to date and contributed countless volunteer hours. For members past and present, this legacy reflects what is possible when generosity and purpose come together — changing lives for generations of children to come.
