Clinical Retreat

Achieving Clinical Excellence in Academic Medicine

We are excited to announce the inaugural Department of Medicine Clinical Retreat on Friday, May 4 entitled “Achieving Clinical Excellence in Academic Medicine.” The event will follow a special Miller Coulson Academy Medical Grand Rounds and will take place from 9:15 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Wood Basic Science Auditorium.

The event will feature a keynote address by Dr. Andrea Sikon, chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, and an address on clinical excellence by Dr. Fred Wigley, director of the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center. The day will also feature poster sessions highlighting key clinical innovations and practice improvement efforts made across the department as well as a series of breakout sessions over lunch. These sessions will focus on a wide range topics from developing a Center of Excellence to maintaining a Comprehensive Primary Care center led by master clinicians. Registration is free, and lunch will be provided for all registrants.
