Pursuing Clinical Excellence in Academic Medicine

We are excited to announce the second annual Department of Medicine Clinical Retreat on Friday, May 3 entitled “Pursuing Clinical Excellence in Academic Medicine.” The event will feature guest speaker Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD, for Grand Rounds in Hurd Hall at 8 a.m. This will be followed by an interactive morning showcasing a variety of clinical topics from 9:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Chevy Chase Auditorium, Zayed Building on the East Baltimore Campus.

Dr. Dhaliwal is a clinician-educator and Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He will also participate in a clinical problem solving session. Other highlights of the retreat will include a presentation by Miller Coulson Academy members, as well as a panel discussion on engaging the clinical team. There will be a poster session highlighting key clinical innovations and practice improvement efforts made across the department. We encourage submission of your work in the clinical arena. Registration is free, and lunch will be provided for all registrants.

Posters may be abstracts presented at recent clinical conferences, summaries of innovative clinical programs or initiatives or quality and safety projects. We want to share the knowledge and experience of our clinicians! If you would like to present a poster or abstract at the Clinical Retreat, please email your submission to jesse.benza@jhu.edu.
