Pelvic Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
A physical therapist with advanced skill in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic disorders will work to design and implement an individualized therapy program. Our therapists and patients work together toward restoring normal pelvic floor function ultimately helping patients regain their independence and reestablish their quality of life.
Who Can We Help?
People who experience one or more the following medical conditions:
- Pelvic pain
- Stress or urge urinary incontinence
- Levator ani syndrome
- Low back pain
- Sacro-iliac joint dysfunction
- Pelvic floor laxity or tension
How can We Help?
Problems may arise from a number of situations including, but not limited to:
- Muscle spasms
- Muscle weakness of laxity
- Soft tissue/scar adhesions
- Effects of pregnancy
- Recovery from surgery
The physical therapist will perform a complete musculoskeletal assessment of the trunk and pelvic including the pelvic floor musculature. Together the therapist and patient will set functional goals and develop a treatment plan. A home program will be initiated on the first visit.
