Before we can schedule your consultation with our surgeons, you must attend a information session on bariatric surgery. The information session is for individuals (and their friends and families) interested in learning more about surgical weight loss options available at the Johns Hopkins Center for Bariatric Surgery. You'll also learn about our program requirements and how to navigate the insurance approval process.
We regularly offer in-person information sessions at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where a surgeon will personally discuss obesity and surgical weight loss options. You'll also meet members of our staff and others learning more about bariatric surgery.
An in-person information session is encouraged. However, if attending an in-person information session is inconvenient for you, an online version of our information session is available.

View the Online Information Session
The online information session fulfills the same requirement as the in-person information session. After you complete the information session, you will need to download, complete and submit the New Patient Packet before we can schedule your consultation. More details about this will be provided after you complete the session. Launch the online information session to begin.
PLEASE NOTE: Our staff cannot provide technical support for the online information session. Please remember to turn off your pop-up blocker. If you are unable to complete the online session, we invite you to attend an in-person information session.
