Many may not be aware of the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities. Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 data was not being reported by race and ethnicity. Even when the data finally began to be reported by race and ethnicity, states still had a large percentage of missing data.
