From the Program Director

Dr. Pamela A. Lipsett

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to apply to the Johns Hopkins Residency Training Program in Surgery. Our faculty and housestaff are dedicated to cultivating the academic surgical leaders of the future. Our educational curriculum combines clinical, technical, didactic and scientific training components in order to provide trainees with a well-rounded experience. Upon completion of our program, graduates are highly trained surgeons with access to the complete range of surgical career opportunities including additional fellowship training and careers in academic surgical practice. We pride ourselves on being the oldest residency training program in the country and are committed to continuing to train outstanding academic surgical leaders.

Standing on the shoulders of the giants of surgery in our past, with those chosen, we expect an exciting, dynamic future for surgery. I encourage highly motivated, innovative, and bright applicants to apply.
