Sibley's birthing rooms combine a comfortable environment with advanced medical technology. You may labor, give birth and recover in one location where everything is designed to help you feel at ease. Amenities in each room include a birthing bed, rocking and gliding chairs, telephone, television, blanket warmer, full-size day bed for your partner, television and a shower with water massage. Their dedicated nurses work alongside your physician to help you stay comfortable and give you expert guidance and support.
Labor and Delivery is part of Sibley's Women’s and Infants’ Services department. The department also includes the following units.
The mission of Sibley is to provide highly skilled and considerate care for you and your baby. They are passionate about providing you with personalized attention that shows respect for your physical, spiritual, social and cultural needs.
You will find that Sibley's staff is caring, experienced and compassionate. They are committed to respecting your privacy, managing your pain, answering the call light promptly, providing answers to your questions and giving you reassurance and support. To provide the care you want and deserve, Sibley's staff includes a health care team of physicians, nurses, clinical care assistants, case managers and breastfeeding consultants.
Special Care Nursery
If your baby should require specialized care, the Level II Special Care Nursery is available to care for newborns of 32 weeks gestation and above. The Special Care Nursery is equipped with state-of-the art technology and is able to deliver optimal around the clock care to babies with specialized needs. The nursery is staffed with experienced neonatal nurses and neonatologists who are there 24-hours a day seven days a week.
Sibley has a full range of lactation services available to help breastfeeding mothers and their babies through this special time. It is their goal to promote breastfeeding by offering support, continuity and the highest quality of care from the prenatal period through postpartum and beyond. Certified lactation consultants are available to offer advice and work through problems in order to provide your baby with the best possible start to a full and healthy life.
