Office of Research Integrity (ORI)
The Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training and compliance
Requirements include:
- Online CITI training to be completed in Year 1; Retake CITI training every 4 years
- Attend 2 SOM Research Integrity colloquia and 1 departmental RCR seminar

The Responsible Conduct of Research (CITI) online course
The CITI online course component must be completed within one year after any research at the JHU SOM begins. Registration is available through the myLearning JHU portal. The online course, developed by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), is comprised of 7 sections. Completion of all sections is required. The course must be taken once every four years.
The Research Integrity Colloquia or Equivalency
In this series, JHU SOM faculty and guests discuss their perspectives on approaching and conducting research or other topics of interest to the research community. These presentations are interactive and cover a broad spectrum of RCR topics. Attendance at two of these events, or their equivalent, is required every four years. JHU Individual Development Plans
Johns Hopkins University (JHU) requires that all postdoctoral fellows have an Individual Development Plan (IDP) and meet at least once a year with their primary mentor/PI to discuss their IDP short-term and long-term training and career goals, milestones, career development resources and mentoring expectations. All postdocs are required to verify IDP compliance annually through the School of Medicine online IDP Tracking System. View the JHU policy on IDPs.
Office of Institutional Equity (OIE)
The JHU Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) requires all postdocs to complete Title VI and Title IX training when they start their fellowship. Training requirements are tracked through myLearning.
