Jacky Schultz Retires from Suburban Hospital

Published in Nursing Annual Report - 2020

After 15 years of outstanding service, Jacky Schultz retired as president of Suburban Hospital on September 4, 2020. It is with mixed emotions that I bid Jacky farewell. While I am excited for her to start a new chapter in her life with family and friends, her presence within Suburban will be missed.

Jacky joined Suburban in 2005 as senior vice president of patient care and chief nursing officer, going on to serve in various leadership roles before being named president in 2016. Jacky has nearly four decades of experience in health care, including as a clinical nurse, nurse manager and administrative director.

Jacky’s contributions to Suburban are immeasurable. She was instrumental in helping the hospital to achieve Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and oversaw the recent campus transformation and opening of the 300,000 square foot state-of-the-art North Building. Under Jacky’s leadership, Suburban received national recognition across its service lines, including U.S. News and World Report, the Emergency Nurses Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, The Leapfrog Group, Bethesda Magazine and more.

Jacky also served on the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute’s board of trustees, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors, and the board of directors of the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. Accolades include receiving Montgomery Women’s Shining Star Award, being named twice by Washingtonian Magazine as among Washington, D.C.’s 100 most powerful women, and recognition by the Milken Institute School of Public Health as Preceptor of the Year.

In honor of Jacky’s service, the Daniel Eisinger Family Trust has made a $100,000 bequest in memory of Norma and Daniel Eisinger to helped build early momentum for the Jacky Schultz Fund for Nursing Excellence.

On behalf of the entire Suburban Hospital community, I would like to thank Jacky for her many contributions to Suburban and the Johns Hopkins Health System, and I wish her all the best in retirement.

Regards,
LeighAnn Sidone, D.N.P., R.N., C.E.N.P.
