Message from the Director
The Neuromuscular Division at Johns Hopkins University is a renowned center for the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of neuromuscular disorders. The division's interdisciplinary team of experts, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, geneticists, and rehabilitation specialists work together to provide comprehensive care to patients with neuromuscular conditions. Our vision is to lead the field of neuromuscular medicine in the discovery of innovative treatments and cures for patients with complex neurological conditions.
With its multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment, cutting-edge research programs, and commitment to education and training, we help advance the neuromuscular medicine and improve the lives of patients and families affected by these conditions. The team is also involved in training the next generation of clinicians and researchers, with an emphasis on promoting collaboration and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Our research program is focused on investigating the underlying causes of neuromuscular disorders and developing novel therapies to improve patient outcomes. This includes studies on the genetic and molecular basis of these conditions, as well as clinical trials to test new treatments.
We offer a highly competitive fellowship program for physicians interested in pursuing a career in neuromuscular medicine. Fellows receive rigorous training in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of neuromuscular disorders, as well as opportunities to participate in ongoing research projects and gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge therapies.
Together, we work towards a future where patients with neuromuscular disorders can receive timely, effective treatments that improve their quality of life and advance our understanding of these complex conditions.
