What Our Fellows Say

Paola Ghanem

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this program. I could not have chosen a better place to train and grow, both professionally and personally. From day 1, I have felt that the leadership and faculty are deeply invested in our success. The clinical training is outstanding and has challenged me to explore a broad range of interests while developing valuable skills that will shape my future career.  Most importantly, I have been fortunate to share this experience with an extraordinary group of co-fellows. They have made even the most demanding days enjoyable. I can't think of a better place to be!

It is an immense privilege to train at Johns Hopkins because this program offers unparalleled clinical and research training, along with the flexibility and mentorship to help me achieve my career goals. Just as importantly, the program fosters a genuinely supportive community where fellows and faculty are deeply invested in one another's success, creating an environment that encourages both personal and professional growth.

I feel so fortunate to be training at Johns Hopkins. I had high expectations going into fellowship, and those expectations have only been exceeded! The faculty and leadership are not only dedicated to our education and professional growth, but they are incredibly approachable and readily available to help whenever needed, creating a collegial atmosphere where fellows are truly considered colleagues and peers. I also could not imagine training with a better group of co-fellows. Their intellect, compassion, and resiliency inspire me daily, and I am grateful to have made life-long friendships during my time here!

Training at Hopkins means working alongside true leaders in the field; the people who are writing the guidelines that affect clinical practice and conducting groundbreaking research that you're invited to be a part of. And yet they are remarkably approachable, bringing warmth and humor into every single interaction.

I feel very fortunate to train among the fellows and faculty at Johns Hopkins. The breadth of clinical exposure, independence in caring for our patient panels, access to pioneering research, and mentorship at every level have made this an exceptional experience. And I cannot imagine a more dedicated, humble, and warm community of co-fellows share this journey with

I chose Johns Hopkins because it provides an extraordinary environment to grow as both an oncologist and a physician-scientist. The mentorship here has allowed me to pursue my interests in gastrointestinal cancer research while receiving exceptional clinical training. What stands out most is the collaborative culture—faculty and co-fellows are deeply invested in one another's success, creating a community that continually inspires me to reach my full potential.
