Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center

The Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for children with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and indeterminate colitis. Our expert pediatric IBD team, including physicians, nurses, pediatric surgeons, nutritionists, psychologists and researchers, specializes in the treatment and family-centric care of children with IBD and will include you in the process from diagnosis through the long-term management of these diseases.

We see hundreds of patients each year and have considerable expertise in biologic agents and nutritional interventions for pediatric IBD. We routinely provide second opinions for children in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. We are the only children’s clinic in Maryland that has a focus on very early onset (VEO)-IBD. Our IBD center was among the first to perform fecal microbiota transplantations for children with IBD who have recurrent C. difficile infection. We also have active clinical trials for children with IBD and are part of active research consortiums in North America.
