Gastroenterology and Nutrition

Ranked a top-10 gastroenterology specialty by U.S.News & World Report, the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition is dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care and state-of-the-art techniques in the evaluation and treatment of gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders. We seek to prevent disease and advance medical treatment by following the tripartite mission of Johns Hopkins in providing excellence in patient care, research and education. Our division includes 11 full-time and part-time physician faculty members in addition to nurses and nutritionists highly specialized in caring for children with gastrointestinal and liver disorders. We are committed to family-focused care ensuring that the family is involved in all steps of the patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan.

Inpatient services are provided by a highly skilled team that consists of attending physicians, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, social workers, gastroenterology fellows, house staff and others.

Johns Hopkins Children’s Center  

Patients who need hospitalization for GI conditions and surgery are cared for at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. The 209-bed building, which opened in 2012,  features:

  • 10 new operating suites specially designed for pediatric patients
  • State-of-the-art technology
  • Convenient and secure parking

  • Art and architecture designed to welcome and comfort
