Yasmin Akhtar, D.O., M.P.H.

Dr. Yasmin Akhtar received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the Loyola University Chicago. She went to medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. She worked as a general pediatrician at a FQHC in Pittsburgh for 1 year then moved to Baltimore in 2014 to start her pediatric endocrine fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

Stanley Andriss

Stanley Andrisse, Ph.D.

Dr. Stanley Andrisse is a postdoctoral fellow under the guidance of Dr. Sheng Wu in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. He obtained a B.S. in Biology and an M.B.A. in Finance from Lindenwood University. He received a Ph.D. in Physiology from Saint Louis University. Currently, Dr. Andrisse is studying mechanistic pathways in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is the leading cause of female infertility affecting nearly 10% of reproductive-aged women. The advancement of medical treatments is largely dependent on animal models mirroring human disease. Dr. Andrisse has developed a reliable animal model of PCOS and is exploring the roles of testosterone and testosterone's receptor as a potential mode of action target for PCOS therapeutic intervention.

Francis Tintani

Francis Tintani, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Tintani received his medical degree from the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He obtained his master’s degree in public health epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He subsequently completed his residency training in pediatrics at Woodhull Medical Center/New York University, School of Medicine, New York.

He is currently pursuing his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Tintani sees patients with variety of endocrine disorders including diabetes, disorders of growth, thyroid, calcium metabolism/bone and puberty.

Angela Verardo, M.D.

Angela Verardo, M.D.

Dr. Verardo received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Northeastern University, where she partook in both Circadian Rhythm and Environmental Microbiology research. She obtained her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. She subsequently completed her residency training in pediatrics at New York University School of Medicine in New York, New York, where she rotated through both Langone Medical Center and historic Bellevue Hospital.

She is currently pursuing her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Verardo sees patients with a variety of endocrine disorders including diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid, calcium metabolism/bone and puberty.
