REWards

The Research Ethics Workshops About Responsibilities and Duties of Scientists (REWards) program is designed to address key concepts in human subjects protection in specific research communities. REWards combines lectures and small group discussions to provide practical information on the ethical issues involved in research protocol development and implementation.

How do I register?

This program is offered through the Office of Continuing Medical Education. For more detailed information please go to http://hopkinscme.edu/migration/rewards.html .

Who needs it?

New Principal Investigators must complete their requirement to attend REWards within one year from the date of their first eIRB protocol submission as a PI. PIs must attend 2 workshops to fulfill their training requirement.

If the PI does not complete REWards within 1 year from the date of their first eIRB submission, they will not be able to submit new applications or changes in research until the requirement has been met. For eIRB applications that are determined to be not human subjects research (NHSR) REWards training is recommended, but not required. 

Fellows must complete their requirement to attend REWards by the end of their fellowship. They must attend 2 workshops to fulfill their training requirement.

JH Nursing Principal Investigators must complete the ReWards requirement within 1 year from the date of their first IRB application. 

Please Note: This course is only offered a few times a year.  Be sure to register for an upcoming course as soon as it is available to ensure your access to eIRB will not be restricted.

Exceptions: Exceptions will be made for those who have taken:

  • REWards course offered in Florida fulfills the training requirements for JHACH investigators.
