Abstract
Recurrent infectious vaginitis, most commonly caused in reproductive-aged women by BV and VVC, is a common problem faced by primary care clinicians. A detailed history and physical examination with appropriate testing at the time of symptoms is critical to establishing a correct diagnosis. Limited but effective suppressive options for rBV and VVC exist. Ultimately, better understanding of pathophysiology and improved regimens to treat and prevent common causes of recurrent infectious vaginitis are needed.
