Targeting Inflammaging through CCRL2: A Novel Host-Directed Therapeutic for Tuberculosis in Aging Patients Living with HIV
Summary
Tuberculosis (TB) remains the leading cause of death among people living with HIV (PLWH), especially older adults, and current treatments fail at higher rates in this population. This research will identify immune markers that predict which older PLWH are at highest risk for poor TB outcomes and test a new therapy designed to reverse age-related immune dysfunction, enabling doctors to provide personalized treatment to those who need it most.
