The Rakai Community Cohort Study (RCCS) is a one-of-a-kind health research resource in Uganda that tracks how infections originate, spread, and change over time, helping scientists and doctors find better ways to prevent and treat disease. By supporting this international collaboration, the United States gains access to rare data and samples that will speed up lifesaving discoveries, improve outbreak response, guide public health policies, and strengthen health security both at home and around the world.
