Summary

Aim1. To establish an observational cohort database for research that has public sector HIV data which could be used by BJMC investigators and our Indo-US collaborators to inform India’s national program and shape future research. Aim 2. To examine the natural history of HIV, HIV-related comorbidities (i.e. TB, diabetes, alcoholism, malnutrition, cardiovascular disease) and outcomes of their treatment over time in a public sector clinic in India. In conjunction with the regional consortium’s goal to build local in-country research capacity focused on HIV epidemiology, we will also leverage our recently awarded Fogarty TB/HIV training grant and ongoing HIV studies to enhance research capacity at BJMC.
