While fever is a common symptom of a broad range of infectious diseases and noninfectious inflammatory conditions, fevers of unknown origin are more complex. These fevers are characterized by a prolonged febrile illness with a set of signs and symptoms that lacks an obvious cause, despite an extensive evaluation. These prolonged fevers can be a source of concern for both patients and clinicians, and we are dedicated to advancing our understanding of unexplained fever and its underlying causes.
