Patient Prep for Cardiac MRI Exams
Find out more about patient prep instructions for Cardiac MRI exams, including iron supplement requirements which could interfere with image quality. Cardiac MRI exams are available at Bethesda, Green Spring Station, and select exams are available at Wilde Lake Pavilion. See patient flyer.

Cardiac CTA Pre-Medication
As part of our effort to ensure high-quality imaging results from Cardiac CTA exams, our cardiac imaging radiologists recommend the use of metoprolol tartrate rather than metoprolol succinate, which is an extended-release medication and could contribute to long wait times after arrival. Correct premedication assists in obtaining high-quality images and, on average, shortens patient wait times by 65 minutes. Read more.
