Patient Information

Schedule a Radiology Appointment

Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging offers a variety of exams including MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound, DEXA and X-ray. Please call 443-997-7237 to request an exam with Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging. Learn more about scheduling and appointments.

Mammogram Scheduling

Does the COVID-19 vaccine interfere with getting a mammogram?

Getting a mammogram too soon after your second dose of the coronavirus vaccine could result in a false positive and a callback due to temporarily swollen lymph nodes.

The Johns Hopkins Division of Breast Imaging supports the recommendation from the Society of Breast Imaging: When possible, and if it does not delay care your doctor recommends, you should schedule screening mammograms before your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or four to six weeks after the second dose.

Request an Interventional Radology procedure

Please call 410-502-6611 to request a procedure. Patients will be scheduled through the Johns Hopkins Interventional Radiology Center to coordinate their care. This is the same IR Center coordinating IR patients across Johns Hopkins Medicine. The IR Center determines which patients are eligible for treatment at Green Spring Station. The IR Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Images and Reports

When to Expect Your Report

After your exam, Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging radiologists will read the images and detail the results in a written report for your referring physician. The report is sent directly to the referring physician’s office, usually within 24 hours of the exam.

Please note: Radiology reports will not be available to patients until three business days following the radiologist's final report of the imaging study. You can also find out your results by calling your physician who ordered the exam.

Online Reports

If you are signed up for MyChart, the written report will be posted in your patient portal when available. A message notification will be sent to the email address you used to register with MyChart. Log in to MyChart or learn more about MyChart.

How to access copies of your report and images

You can obtain a copy of your images before you leave Johns Hopkins radiology after having your exam. If you did not request during your appointment, please complete the patient release form and email, fax or mail it to the eRadiology Center. A valid photo ID is required when picking up your radiology records. See our FAQs.

Ordering a CD Copy of Images

Patients or referring physicians may request a copy of the radiologist’s written report or copies of the images on a CD.

Patient authorization of medical information release

Patients must complete a medical information release form before the report or images can be released to the patient. The release form is not necessary for your physician who ordered the exam to receive the report.

Please call our Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging location for a copy of your CD of images or reports.
