Academic Hospital Medicine Fellowship

The Division of Hospital Medicine has created many innovative changes in hospital medicine, including development of a novel training program designed to help newly graduated internal medicine or family medicine physicians develop the skills essential to becoming academic hospitalists. This program was established in 2008 and has graduated several fellows who now have successful careers in academic hospital medicine. The program’s success is driven by an environment of collaboration, respect and collegiality.

Applications are accepted from Internal Medicine – or Family Medicine Board – eligible physicians. H-1B visa holders will be considered. Salary is $61,000 for the first year, and $62,000 for second year fellows.

Curriculum Overview

The hospital medicine fellowship is a two-year program and is not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). It offers three specifically designed tracks in quality improvementleadership and medical education. In addition to these tracks, the following core curriculum is covered by all fellows.
