Living with Depression

Overview

Depression affects nearly one out of 10 adults, about half of them severely. It is a common, chronic, treatable mood disorder, which typically follows a series of recoveries and relapses. Successful treatment requires working closely with a doctor over time to design an individualized plan of treatment. This may include medication, therapy or both. Effective treatment and family and peer support can restore function and quality of life.
