Dr. Nisa Maruthur Wins Clinical Research Award

Dr. MaruthurGIM Assistant Professor Nisa Maruthur, MD, MHS, has won this year's Department of Medicine Clinical Research Award for Junior Faculty. Dr. Maruthur won for the poster she presented at the Department of Medicine's Assessment Retreat held last Wednesday, April 10th. The award was presented at the end of the retreat day. Dr. Maruthur's winning research project was titled "Zinc Supplementation, Insulin Secretion, and SLC30A8: A Pharmacogenetic Trial." Co-investigators on the study include GIM's Dr. Jeanne Clark.

Dr. Maruthur is well-practiced in carrying off these departmental prizes; just a few years ago, as a GIM Fellow, she won the corresponding Clinical Research Award for Fellows.
