JH PACT Long COVID Support Group

Living with Long COVID can be challenging and create feelings of isolation. The Johns Hopkins PACT program offers a free online support group for JH PACT patients with Long COVID only at this time.
This group helps our patients meet other people who are living with Long COVID and share helpful tips to manage their symptoms.
This is an informal support group; casual attire and comfort items are welcome. You do not need to come to every meeting, though we encourage you to come as often as you can.

Each session starts with a welcome and activity to get comfortable with each other and a review of group norms. This is followed by a discussion or information sharing on a specific topic. The rest of the meeting will be a group discussion that can involve asking and answering questions, and sharing experiences and tips for living with Long COVID.

This is a support group and not group therapy. A support group can be run by any individual and is offered to help people cope. Group therapy is run by a licensed therapist to help people change their thinking and behavioral patterns.
These meetings are completely free, and we will not bill your insurance. If you are interested in group therapy please reach out to our social worker, Maggie Glass-Lane, LCSW-C ([email protected] or 410-550-1268) for additional resources.

You are not required to share; however, we encourage you to share when you are comfortable. We are aware that it can be difficult to share your journey and experiences with a group of people you do not know. You may feel more comfortable just listening to other people's experiences for a while that is okay.
If you are searching for a way to engage with the group but are not comfortable sharing your story the examples below may help.
- Asking questions to the group to see if other people are experiencing similar challenges
- It is likely that other people in the group have experienced or are currently experiencing what you are going through
- Sharing a success story or victory over something challenging for you in the past
- Exploring challenges with building and maintaining relationships with other people
- Speaking about hobbies, interests and coping skills you find helpful
- What motivates you on those difficult days?
- Do you know of a resource someone else may find helpful?
Our goal is to create a welcoming environment for information to be shared and support to be given. Our social worker Maggie Glass-Lane, LCSW-C will be there to support and assist at any time.
