Tim Kurnocik serves as vice president and controller for the Johns Hopkins Health System. He joined the health system in June 2026 and provides leadership for the accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable and tax functions across the organization.

A transformational finance executive, Kurnocik brings more than 20 years of experience in leading complex, multi-entity accounting operations; integrating decentralized functions; modernizing financial systems; and leading high-performing teams through periods of significant organizational change. He is known for building strong teams, driving operational discipline, and implementing processes that enhance efficiency, consistency and accountability across large, complex organizations.

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Kurnocik served in various financial leadership roles at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, most recently as corporate controller. He began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young LLP.

Kurnocik earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and finance from Robert Morris University in 2006 and a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Virginia in 2007. He is a certified public accountant.
