Sarah Disney

Vice President, Operations for Johns Hopkins Surgery Centers Series

Sarah Disney was appointed vice president of operations for the Johns Hopkins Ambulatory Surgery Centers Series in July 2022. In this role, Disney serves as the liaison between the Johns Hopkins Health System's ambulatory surgery centers and the rest of the organization, working alongside hospital and physician leaders to develop and integrate strategies. She is responsible for the centers' operational and financial performance, quality and safety, including licensure and accreditation standards.

Disney joined Johns Hopkins in 2007, as a project coordinator supporting the pediatric intensive care unit. Over the last decade, she has assumed progressive leadership roles within the Department of Medicine — most recently, as administrative director of Johns Hopkins Hospital inpatient operations and the endoscopy units for the main hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. In January 2022, she was appointed director of operations and strategic planning for the Johns Hopkins Surgery Centers Series.

Over the years, Disney's contributions have strengthened operational efficiency, staff and patient experience, cost-effectiveness, and quality and safety. Her achievements include implementing a centralized scheduling team, aligning administrative oversight over two medical campuses, launching and supporting a systemwide software platform, and assisting in the pandemic response. She also provided central human resources project support and pediatric inpatient equipment planning. In addition, Disney led the consolidation of two endoscopy units, in preparation for the opening activities of The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center and the Sheikh Zayed Tower.

Disney is a Six Sigma Green Belt, an Armstrong Institute Patient Safety and Quality Leadership Academy scholar, and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2019, she received the Early Careerist Healthcare Executive Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives Regents.

Disney holds two Bachelor of Science degrees and a master's degree from Towson University.
