Josh Newman
Vice President, Clinical Systems

Josh Newman is vice president of clinical systems for Johns Hopkins Health System. In this role, he oversees the enterprise software ecosystem supporting patient care, including the management of Epic, health care data operations and other enterprise applications.
Newman also co-chairs the Johns Hopkins AI and Data Trust AI Oversight team, where he helps lead the development of policies and processes to ensure the responsible implementation of AI across the organization.
Since joining Johns Hopkins in 2018, Newman has held several key leadership positions, including executive director of health information technology. His strategic leadership has helped deliver high-impact outcomes, such as a seamless migration to the Epic-hosted environment and the deployment of a robust Johns Hopkins Medicine software intake process.
An expert in process optimization and team development, Newman has successfully led telehealth expansions, system integrations and large-scale IT initiatives. Prior to his tenure at Johns Hopkins, he held roles at Epic Systems and Northwestern Medicine, where he consistently aligned technology solutions with organizational goals.
Newman holds a master’s degree in software engineering and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
