Interim Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, for Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS), National Capital Region (NCR), Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital

Joseph ‘Joe’ Delenick, M.B.A., is the interim vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS), National Capital Region (NCR), Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital.

In this role, which he has held since June 1, 2026, Delenick oversees financial operations for the region and partners with key stakeholders across JHHS to achieve strategic and operational objectives. He will lead financial planning and execution of regional service expansion. He will also refine financial management capabilities and advance business processes to align with our priority of serving patients, families and team members with care and distinction.

Joe has extensive experience in healthcare finance, process improvement, strategy, business development, contracts, capital planning, enterprise analytics and business intelligence. For over 15 years, he has devoted his career to improving the operations and finances across health systems, including academic medicine, community hospitals, physician groups, home care, hospice and other ambulatory services.

Joe earned a master's in business administration and a cybersecurity certificate from Loyola University, and a bachelor of arts degree from McDaniel College with a double major in business administration and economics. He holds a Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and is actively earning credits and certifications.

Joe is a proud husband, father and native of Pottsville, Pennsylvania. He resides in Sykesville, Maryland, with his wife, daughter, son and dogs. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, coaching youth sports and recreation outdoors.
