Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

John Davis, M.B.A., D.N.P., R.N., F.N.P.-B.C., N.E.-B.C., is responsible for ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of nursing and patient care services, maintenance of quality assurance standards, and the appropriate allocation and management of nursing resources; in addition, John is responsible for respiratory therapy and capacity and throughput for the hospital.

John has 15 years of nursing and nursing leadership experience. He served as chief nursing officer at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) from 2021 until 2025. There, John led and operationalized a hospital-wide hospital-acquired infection council, as well as patient experience initiatives such as purposeful hourly rounding, decreasing infections and increasing patient experience results.

John holds a Master of Business Administration from Capella University, a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Akron and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati.
