David C. Hodgson is the managing director of General Atlantic Partners, LLC. General Atlantic, LLC, is an equity firm with more than $5 billion in capital under management.  The firm focuses on global information-technology and Internet-enabled businesses.  General Atlantic Partners, LLC, has invested in more than 80 companies in 12 countries, including Eclipsys, HEALTHvision, E*Trade Group, Priceline.com, Proxicom, Tickets.com and predictive Systems. The firm has eight global offices, located in Greenwich, New York, Palo Alto, São Palo, London, Düsseldorf, Mumbai and Hong Kong. Mr. Hodgson joined General Atlantic Partners in 1982. He helped found the partnership and has more than 20 years of experience identifying and assisting portfolio companies worldwide in all areas of their development.

Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Hodgson served as president of New England Software.

Mr. Hodgson is a Trustee of Spence School in New York, a member of the Advisory Council of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a member of the Dartmouth College President’s Leadership Council, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Manhattan Theatre Club, Chair of the Board of Trustees for Echoing Green Foundation, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Boys and Girls Harbor and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Playing to Win. He is also a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Board of Trustees.
