Commencement/Convocation Ceremonies
Please note: The SOM convocation and University-wide ceremonies will be held this year on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
The SOM convocation ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall located at 1212 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Tickets are not required for this ceremony.
This year's speaker will be announced shortly.
Rev. Uwe Scharf, Director of Pastoral Care to give the invocation and benediction at the ceremony.
Please note: The Meyerhoff does not allow balloons in the venue.

The University-wide commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. on the Homewood field of the Homewood campus. It is anticipated that there will be unlimited seating available for this ceremony.

Note: Ph.D. candidates will wear their hoods to and receive their diplomas during the University-wide ceremony. M.A., M.D. and M.S. candidates will receive their diplomas and hoods during the SOM convocation ceremony. M.D. students are recognized individually during the University-wide ceremony. All candidates will be hooded as part of the SOM ceremony.
Note: December M.A., M.S. and Ph.D. graduates will receive their diplomas via U.S. mail in January 2010.
Regalia
Orders for regalia are due to the Registrar's Office by March 5, 2010.

Regalia will be available for pick up from the Broadway Research Building, Room 181, 733 North Broadway, School of Medicine on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Attendance at Ceremonies
Attendance information for both ceremonies is due to the Registrar's Office by March 5, 2010 for M.D. candidates and by February 19, 2010 for M.A., M.S. and Ph.D. candidates.

Announcements
School of Medicine Announcements - SOM will provide each graduate with up to 10 announcements for the Meyerhoff ceremony. Announcements will be available during cap and gown distribution.
Personalized Announcements - Students wishing to have personalized announcements may purchase them through Herff-Jones. Select 'Johns Hopkins Medical Institute' for ordering information for the School of Medicine.
