Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care

Dr. BrancatiWalgreens has announced that it will provide the initial funding establishing the Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care, an extension of its collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine. Together, Johns Hopkins Medicine and Walgreens will seek to raise $10-$15 million over the next five years to fund the Center.

The Center is named for the late Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine, Dr. Fred Brancati, who was known internationally for his research in both medicine and epidemiology and for promoting collaboration across disciplines. The Brancati Center will provide the interdisciplinary research incubator for new models of collaborative healthcare delivery, including those that Johns Hopkins Medicine and Walgreens will explore in the community in the innovative Eager Park "Well Experience" store adjacent to the JHM campus.

The establishment of the Brancati Center was the lead story in the December 2, 2013 issue of Inside Hopkins. For further details about the Center, see the report in the Wall Street Journal.
