An interview with senior GIM Fellow Dr. Matthew DeCamp was featured on Fox News Baltimore on Monday, January 7th, 2013, in a story concerning the reliability of medical information consumers access via the Internet. Dr. Decamp, who has a specialty in medical ethics, focused specifically on the importance of physicians' disclosures of conflicts of interest, which he observes to be as yet lacking standards and methods in the online environment.
In the past few months Dr. DeCamp has published three articles on medical professionalism and conflict of interest in the context of online social media. His articles have appeared in the journals Lancet, Archives of Internal Medicine and most recently in the online version of the Journal of General Internal Medicine.
