Call for Research Abstracts and Clinical Vignettes

The SGIM MidAtlantic Regional Meeting (Topic: “Quality and the Art of Medicine”) will take place on Friday, March 9, 2007, at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, in Bethesda, Maryland.

Deadline for Electronic Submission of abstracts and vignettes is Wednesday, January 17, 2007 by 11:59 pm EST.
Abstracts addressing any area of clinical or scientific interest to generalists are welcome, including medical education and/or clinical practice. SGIM strongly encourages submissions from students, residents, and fellows. Please note that clinical vignettes are meant to represent informative, challenging, and general medical problems, not only rare entities; i.e., both “horses” and “zebras” are welcome. We encourage submission of research abstracts with teaching points related to the meeting theme of “Quality and the Art of Medicine”. We also encourage vignettes illustrating the utility of an evidence-based approach to medical practice and opportunities for quality improvement.

Submissions will be competitively selected for inclusion at the meeting.
