Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
The Johns Hopkins Hospital has been ranked the only hospItal in history to be ranked #1 by U.S. News & Workld Report for 21 years in a row. The School of Medicine has provided international leadership in the education of physicians and medical scientists, in biomedical research, and in the application of medical knowledge to sustain health since its opening in 1893. Henry Phipps Psychiatric Service
Since philanthropist Henry Phipps' endowment almost 100 years ago, the department has occupied a distinguished place in the history of psychiatry, with a continuous tradition of excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. In the US News and World Report, the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has been consistently among the top five, ranking second in 2010. The Department also consistently ranks nationally among the top departments in psychiatric research funded by the National Institutes of Health.
